I have this older sheath with 36 stamped under makers mark.
I saw a Randall sheath that looked identical w/45 under the Randall stamp, and was wondering if Heiser made for Randall and any info related to Heiser.
Heiser made sheaths for early randall made knives. Yours if for a Randall model 3-6" blade. Do some research. Check some online auction sites. It is valuable.
Heiser was a pretty popular saddle maker from Denver back in the day.
There are a bunch of Heiser made saddles all over the West, but the ones in good shape fetch some good $$.
The sheath looks to be in very good shape. I bet it would clean-up really good.
I'm really impressed with the way the stitching has held-up.
Do a search for Herman H Heiser Saddle Co or HH Heiser for more info including links to the companies old catalogs.
As Ray noted they made saddles and horse gear as well as sheaths and all types of gun leather. Company started in 1863 and were bought up by Denver Dry Goods in 1945, and by Keyston Bros in 1950 and became Heiser-Keyston.
