Hello, New to forum. Recently bought a J.M. Wade #30 skinning knife at an estate sale.It is dated 1994. It is an incredibly well made and beautiful knife. I can't find any information on the web about it. Does anyone know the maker and what the value may be?
Thanks, Jason

From Bladeforums rules:

WHAT IS MY KNIFE / GADGET / SPATULA / TUNING FORK WORTH ?!?!?!?!

In order to curtail potential abuse of membership privileges associated with the forums, questions regarding valuation of knives and collections are limited to those with a membership level which permits selling on this site. Accordingly, registered and basic members may not start or post in threads with such requests whether with the intent to sell or for informational purposes only. This rule applies throughout the site.

In other words, without a paid Gold membership, you don't get to ask about sale values. Too many people abused this question to hint they had a knife for sale, which you need that membership for.

Well you don't need to join the club to get answers other than price/worth that's not against the rules. So if you want to know about the maker or the knife, ask away. If nobody here can answer, have it moved to the Bernard Levine subforum for collectors.

Knives 97 has a James M Wade listed as a part time maker in Fayetteville NC active from 1982. Stock removal hunters, boots and bowies in D2, 440c, 154cm and ATS 34. His mark is his name. Not listed in Knives 2000 - so is probably not making knives anymore.
