J Maines Utility Knife with Flashlight - Delta Z Knives

Can anyone give me feedback on the J Maines (Sunrise River Custom Knives) "Custom Made" Utility Knife with Flashlight being offered by Delta Z Knives? It looks like a good size for a every-day carry fixed blade that isn't too threatening. I'm looking for something to carry when hiking. It seems kind of expensive ($300-$320) for what I assume is a factory made, custom designed knife. It does come in several handle configurations and the leather sheath also holds a Mag-Lite mini flashlight. Is it available anyplace that discounts it?

get a petzl zoom headlamp, ive used one on several trips, not exactly waterproof but its just so convinient.


great for cooking in the dark.

My interest in the flash light is to have it with me. I don't really need it most of the time. But, it would also seem to make the whole item less threatening.

What I'm really interested in is a reaction to the knife from someone who has purchased or at least used it. Is it the quality of a "custom" knife and worth the $300.

I can't comment on that specific knife, but Jay has an excellent reputation for turning out beautiful knives.
