I just got this one today. Its got some of that rare dark pre-ban Elephant ivory similar to that on the Gold Rush bowie. The fittings are stainless steel and the blade has a shimmery and deeply etched 'W' pattern. The frame handle is tapered which I find really cool. JR's work is exceptional and I am real happy with this fighter. It feels great in the hand too. Its been said that JR is underratted or does not go out and heavily promote. I say lets get this guy out there and consider JR's work. He is also wonderful to work with. Thanks JR! Let me know what you think...

This pic is off of JR's site. The ivory is darker then shown in this photo. The brown areas of it are MUCH richer in person.

These pics of mine are kinda bad but they give an idea. One day I'll get a pro shot.

Beautiful knife, beautifully made I love every single little bit of this knife. Jonathan you certainly scored a nice one there!!!

Never handled a JR Cook knife, but really liked every one I've seen posted.
I LOVE this one, Jon. Congrats !

Very nice knife

That file work has no pattern.

It does. My pic doesnt show it well. It's cool though. Its nothing super fancy but it plays well with the steel. Kinda have to see in person.

I just switched it out for a pic that may show it better..?

Excellent grab Jon. Another fine knife from JR. The ivory looks great and his steel is just super. I know you have to be pleased with this one for sure.

Enjoy, Jon

Lovin' that steel, Jon. JR makes some extraordinary knives and some beautiful displays. Congrats!

Thanks for all of your comments on my work. I am glad Jon likes his new knife.
I am working on a 25 year anniversary Bowie, it is the Commanchero style with feather Damascus in the "W" pattern. Maybe I can get it posted when it is finished.

Very nice! If I'm not mistaken, that appears to be a stylized version of the vine pattern he used to work with -- less is more, in this case?

I've yet to see a Cook Bowie I didn't love. Congrats, Jon!

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm really enjoying this knife. I like how thick the blade is. This knife looks like it could do serious business and just perform great. Its solid, sharp and the handle feels rignt..
