Hi Guys
Called about my hawk I ordered awhile back and the maker just commenced work on it. He sent me a couple of progress shots and gave me permission to post them online. I thought you would like to see them so here they are.

The photos show an unfinished hawk and are going to go thru many other steps before they are finished.

Here is the beginnings of my first hawk, you can see the original notes nothing to technical.

Out of the forge still pretty rough.

Starting to take shape. He forged two heads and lets me pick the one I want. Pretty cool huh? I'm liking the top one a lot.
The other he offers for sale.

"'They are very crude yet and will be ground, re-forged and heat treated, then blued......you'll see that too! If you want to change the shape slightly that is still possible but not after tommorrow....I'll finish both out and you can pick the one you like....enjoy."

So I will post the other shots if he sends them. Any questions please contact him since I know nothing about the forging aspects.

thanks for looking which one do you like?

I sure like the drifting jig that fits in the hardy hole. One of those "why didn't I think of that?" moments. Thanks for sharing.

Just what I was thinking. Got to be pretty beefy to hang over the anvil like that for drifting. It must be carbon steel. And you'd need a decent anvil weight, too. Probably at least a 175#.
