Well it's not often you get to see a thank you Thread in these parts is it
, haven't seen one for....gosh a day or so!!!
I have to put this up because ONCE AGAIN my good mate from over the seas far far away has done it again, now I just cannot think of another one person ( and boy we have some fantastic people in here ) who is so so thoughtful and generous who spends a lot of his time searching out items for people overseas.
Of course I am talking about our Jack...
I received a pm a while ago, ..well one of many between Jack and I but one stating that a parcel will be on it's way soon.... Now poor Jack a while ago tried to send me out a Carving Knife and Fork set - well the trouble Jack had to try and send this out of his Country - the stupid arrogance of some post people together with the impossible over-the-top laws made this impossible for him to get it out of England - would you believe it ??
Thank you Jack for going to all that expense and Trouble and Time that you lost for trying so hard for me - thats just amazing!!
Anyway...a parcel arrived in the weeks to follow and ...as everyone knows...when Jack sends you something...it's pretty darned cool, A postcard with a awesome Mural made from different coloured Bricks to salute the Almighty Sheffield Worker of the past - pretty darned cool if you ask me - at the back of course is a letter from my mate.
Along with the card were three knives now I am talking about three very cool knives, one was a blast from the past when jack put up a not one but two strange knives that no-one here could identify -and when Jack spoke to the one and only Stan Shaw recently - he didnt know either!!
and the knife had Stans ex-employer's symbol of the famous Violin along-side the Ibberson Stampings ( very cool ), now if ANYONE would know - it would be Stan!
Alongside were two Beauties - both being a Saynors - Oh yeah!!.... one being a Hawkbill Pruner with scales that are checkered - and the blade being so Full!! this is a Beauty Jack, I love it to bits and it joins my pruners with pride and specialty my friend.-Thank You!
Not finished yet!
He also sent along a very cool Saynor Lambsfoot - this baby has Buffalo Horn Scales, again full blade - how good is that!!
Jack Saynor is SUCH a respected and wanted name, and to receive two untouched lovely Saynors is just too much, and on top and Ibberson Mystery knife ( it's been working hard as a strong spring knife opener - perfect!)
So Jack - my heartfelt thanks to you my friend, I owe you so much as it is - you are an amazing thoughtful person.
In the week that followed I received a pm from good ol Jon ( Meako ), he said he came across a knife and when he did he thought "this one's for Duncan"...... now one must be careful when you receiving generosity from an Aussie, you have to go into the situation with your guard up
, but it all turned out all right - no exploding packages, Anthrax - in fact inside was this MASSIVE Joseph Rodgers Clasp Knife!!!
I am obviously on a roll after Jacks beautiful lot of knives, and this JR is no exception - oh man what a great example, this one is a mid seventies example - but still Broad arrow marked, massive solid construction - this baby was made to work, I note this model has like a crusher Bail end as well!
Meako - like you say both NZ and OZ love to poke the stick at each other, but when it comes to time we got each others backs - and THANK YOU for this marvelous knife- this too takes place of pride in my collection - alondise Jacks awesome WRAGG Clasp knife!!!.
Great guys, good times...thank you both for looking after me and thinking of me......
Jack's knives Phwoooar!

BAM!!! Heavy Duty.......
