Hello,

I hope this is in the right spot. I've been browsing the search function and haven't quite been able to find the answer I'm looking for.

Does anyone know how the tanga were built on the Jack Crain hollow handle knives? I know from the blade article, and various posts, that the tang was strengthened and welded to the guard and handle, but does anyone know more of how they were built?

Also, does anyone have any first hand using experience of these knives? I've heard they are durable, functional pieces like the old Lile knives, and I wanted to see if anyone can speak from experience.

I know Jack doesn't have the greatest history, but everytime I watch the predator or commando, I get stuck on these knives. They just scream peak 80s tactical knife to me. Obviously they shouldn't be used for modern batoning and chopping tasks, but can they hold up to basic outdoor tasks?

Thanks in advance!

Tagging in Sam Wilson Sam Wilson . He may be able to shed some light.

I know Jack ended up with not the greatest reputation, but I met him at the Houston gun show not long after Predator was released. I was star struck and wanted one of his knifes sooooo bad; dang my poor boy teenage years! He was one of the nicest makers I've ever met.
