I purchased a knife from Jack Crain 21 or 22 years ago as a young federal agent. It is a MCS style knife from the movie Predator. I have never used the knife and it is still in its seath. Anyone have any ideas on what a knife in new condition like this is worth? Thanks

Somewhere around $1,000...could be quite a bit more, but Crain is an EXTREMELY unpopular maker in the general knife community as he is a complete thief and has no scruples.

I appreciate the reply. When I dealt with Jack that 20 plus years ago, I had no problems with him. He made two knives for me, the MCS and then a dagger that had appeared in the movie Commando. I received both knives fairly quickly. I never had contact again so I do not know what happened. I understand he has been dead for many years now.

Deadbeat maybe, don't think he is dead.

Here are some pics of my Jack Crain Predator #1 knife set. The Predator machete is #1 of 25. The MCS is #1 of 50. The Hunter is #1 of 50. All were originally purchased from Jack back in 1987. These are from a time when he was able to deliver on his promises. I have all the original paperwork, catalog, receipts & communications with Jack.

Real nice stuff....too bad the guy is a scumbag.

It's too bad that he went the direction of a few other prominent knife makers. More promises than they could deliver.

True that, but other makers are not being discussed in this thread.....no, this one belongs all to Jack Crain.
