Hi.

As mentioned in my earlier thread in the 'Chris Reeve Knives' section I have joined these forums to gain information regarding American knives and their makers.

As a long standing member of British Blades I am finding it increasingly difficult to find any help with the history of some of my American Blades.

I have two Jack Crain knives. An 'LS1' and a 'Commando'..

I have tried desperately to find any info on Jack Crain and his knives, all I seem to be able to find is that he designed knives for the movie industry in the early 80's and 90's. Second to that, and please tell me if I am wrong, I have heard that Jack has a poor reputation regarding some aspects of his dealings..

From the images I have found of the LS1 all have had the 'Life Support System' stamp running down the side of the blade, this particular LS1 has it stamped next to the guard, would this have been a customers request or were some done that way..

Any info or links to any info greatly apprieciated..

And please if this is in the wrong forum, I apologise in advance.

Regards.
Andy.

If memory serves, both of those were originally done for the movie "Commando" with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Jack Crain also did many of the knives for "Predator".

You would be right, check the "Hall of Shame" in the "Good, Bad and Ugly" section here on the forum for more details.
