I keep seeing quite a few Jack Davenport knives for sale here and there and they look awfully good...fit and finish wise. I don't hear alot of people mentioning his name around here though.

So what gives....are his knives a good as they look? Has anyone around here ever owned one? If so what's your opinion of his work?
 
I only handled one and photographed it. It was posted here only a month or so ago. Do the search....

My take was that it was simply incredible fit and finish. As good as any of the top names in this field. I have handled them all.

He won Best Custom Folding Knife at last year's Guild Show. That says a mouthful. He's a pleasure to talk with also.

I have gotten to talk with Jack a little over the last year or so.

I am very impressed with him and his knives. So much so that last year (at Blade) I placed an order with him. During that time he has stayed in contact regarding progress (I don't bug makers about orders) and find that a makers willingness to initiate contact is key to me in enjoying the experience.

I will be ordering more of his work.
