Just finished up this one this morning.

Blade and Spring are O1. Blade is hollow ground
Liners are Brass.
Bolsters are nickle silver.
Scales are Stag Bone.

This is my third slipjoint, constructive criticism is welcome. Let me know what you think.

I'd love to own something like that.
I was actually about to say I haven't seen slanted bolsters before...but I have some in my pocket:p Still in my limited experience I haven't seen an individual slanted bolster like you've done and I think it looks very sleek.

I like the slanted bolster, would rather the scales either be smooth or rough not half/half. Nice knife

Man, I really like it. Alot! The slanted bolsters give it a modern look, while at the same time maintaining the traditional look.

My only comment, and it's just that, is the stag bone. I would try to leave more of the "bark" on the stag bone. Alot of people like that contrast of the bark to the smoothness of the bone. Were it me, (and it isn't) I would take the material off the inside, and leave as much of the bark on the outside, with as small of a taper where the bolster meets as looks good.

Please don't take my remarks the wrong way, I would love to own that knife. You are doing something that not too many people can do well.

Do you heat treat the blades and springs yourself?

BTW, did I mention that I liked it alot?

Nice riff on the Barlow!
Interesting blade shape!!
Keep it up!!!

I think it looks amazing! Btw, nice job with the blade centering!

Very VERY nice. I can't wait to see what you have in store for the future knowing this is your third slippie.

I love it! The slanted bolsters give a great look, and the swell at the butt is fantastic. I like bark on stag, so it would be cool if the fitting were done more from the back side to carry the bark closer to the bolster line, but that is a tiny personal quibble. It looks to be a well thought out and executed project:thumbup:
Thanks for showing it to us!

As everyone else has said, a bit more bark might be an improvement, although I actually really like the flaring towards the butt of the handle. My only other complaint is that it isn't in my pocket! :D

I very much like the pointed Spear blade, suits the frame well along with the slant bolster, gives it a fresh and purposeful look.

The thickness of the bone is good too. This being Bonestag it will age nicely as the whiter parts take on a more yellow colour with use, I don't know if you can leave more 'bark' on bonestag as it comes as jigged bone and I don't mind the smooth look on a Barlow type of bolster anyway. Looks ideal to me actually. Myself, I prefer a highly polished bolster but depends of course on your customer (you can gladly send it to me for field-testing...:D:thumbup:) Next time nickel silver or stainless liners perhaps for a cleaner long-term finish. Brass can bleed badly against porous bone or stag giving a green verdigris at times.

Really promising work this, original and authentic. Thank you for showing this, you should be proud.

Regards, Will

Love that knife bro! it looks like it would make a really functional user as well as being a beautiful piece. I do agree with glenbad about the bark, but then again that is a personal preference. I is very jealus of yoru skill:)

Great looking knife. The spear blade has a unique shape that fits well with the slanted bolster. Please post any others knives you make. Thanks.
