jack knife one blade tight and one wobbles

So I want to ask the forum gurus a question. If a jack knife has one tight blade and one that has a bit of play... not too much but distinctly noticeable...why is that? I thought that the pivot pin on one side would dictate blade play for both. Why one more than another? Reason I ask is a new knife I bought (a two blade jack) has one tight and one wobbly.

I am not a guru, but this can happen in a few ways. The wobbly blade may be a bit less wide than its spring, causing a gap. The tang on the non-wobbly blade might be a little bent, causing it to take up a bit more extra space. The liner may favor one side. Use it for a while and it will even out as the parts burnish in.
