Here are some pic's of my 2nd slipjoint, that I finished up over the weekend.

The blade and spring are O1.

The scales are Cocobolo.

The liners and locking liner are brass and the bolsters are nickle sliver.

Overall I pretty happy with how it turned out. I like traditional pocket knives and tried to keep this as traditional as possible. I thought I'd post over here in the traditional forum to get feedback from others who appreciate a traditional pocket knife.

Let me know what you think.

Very clean looking knife plas62. I really like the coloring and the joints look very tight. Must be a good feeling making a knife from scratch. Congrats on a job well done.

Can you give us the build details of this obviously superb knife; and on your next one, stretch that front bolster and you'll have a Barlow.:thumbup::thumbup:

Like Will said, it's very clean. My only quibble is the thickness of the liner lock, because I feel like it's excessive. How's the back spring? Overall I like it a lot.

Looks pretty good there guy! You'll have to start putting your work up for sale in the sub-forum. Or do you already have a waiting line. Good stuff!

The short long pull :p looks very nice :)
I would definitely take the linerlock away from this knife though...but that's just taste.

Thanks for the feed back, just what I was looking for some constructive criticism without getting slammed.

As to the build details.

The knife is 3 7/8" closed and 6 7/8" open, with half stop.

The spring is flush in all 3 positions. Has a good snap on open, sluggish to close the last 1/4 of the movement after the half stop due to the locking liner.

Blade and spring are O1 , .125" thick. The blade is HT to 60 Rockwell "C" and the spring is HT to 49.

The liners and locking liner are .060" brass.

I based the knife on the TL-29 pattern and thought I would try including the locking liner which was a bit of challenge getting it cut and fitted correctly.

I have one more set of blanks already made and heat treated in this pattern. One the next one I'll probably leave the locking liner out. I have a set of bone stag scales to use on that one. Still debating with myself if I should make it a single or double bolster.

Joe58 - Thanks for the compliment that someone might actually want to buy it. I hadn't really considered that yet. I'm just to trying to get to the point where I can make a good quality slipjoint.
