What is that delapidated envelope doing in my PO Box??

Agghhh!! It is wide open!! Who has been in my Box??

That basically describes my first one and one half seconds of thought, after unlocking the little door.

I quickly saw that said envelope had traversed the big Pond, and then North America to make it here to the bigger Pond!:)

Leeds you say? Thanks Jack, for the nice bag o' goodies!

I detect some theme here. I may have mentioned that while my wife continues working full time, I am enjoying my role as chief cook and bottle washer.
I look forward to trying some Yorkshire recipes, especially to help celebrate Yorkshire Day (is that today?)

Furthermore, I plan to eat with some of these fine implements of consumption for the same reason!!

(I will post more, as soon as photobucket gets out of its funk!)

That's an awesome little present from across the pond! Love the old English cutlery, reminds me of my grandmother's set, should get a photo of that... Anyways good on ya Jack and happy eating Charlie!

Wow! You can be an honorary Yorkshireman for the day Charlie, we'll let ya :)

I must say I am incredibly jealous of those eatin irons. What fine cutlery to butter th'crumpets and scoff yer puddin's!

Enjoy chef ;)

Good on yer Jack.

Wow Jack - good on you mate! - as Scruff has said - that Cutlery is awesome, this does NOT surprise me in the least - Jack is an extremely generous, thoughtful guy, and a talented one at that.
Thank you Jack for making Traditionals so great, and well done and well deserved Charlie, I guess this means we get to see some more Spey photos with the results of of the reading of the Yorkshire Recipes ?
Have a great day folks

Awesome gifts from a great and generous member! Jack just sent me a sodbuster to add to my collection! Enjoy your new toys Charlie and your chores as well:D

Jack, I think a knife got "lost" from the open package - from your letter it was a swayback(?). Pity! They told me at the PO that the auto-sorting machines will burst an envelope from time to time. Rats!!
But I am enjoying the rest immensely! Thank you, thank you!

I may have to postpone the Yorkshire cuisine, because
"She-Who-Finds-Lost-Knives" is feeling poorly today, so we are having my tried and true Chicken Soup.
But never fear, soon enough I will try my hand at some of these dishes!

Chicken Soup you say Charlie? By 'eck lad.It were INVENTED oop Grewelthorpe way.
Janettes tip for the perfect puffy puddin' (I'm talking Yorkshire pudding here the ones made of batter served with roast beef) For the perfeck poodin' get the a bit of oil in the pudding tray (similar to a muffin tray) and get it in the oven until the oil sizzles then AND ONLY THEN put the batter in they will rise better than daybreak on Mercury. Half a teaspoon in each little dish of the tray.
Good on you guys.
auto sorting machine?.....burst the other one.

Great assortment of goodies especially the table cutlery which is just terrific. Good on you Jack, and Charlie, please let us know when dinner's ready.

A fine collection of goodies!! Forever the generous gentleman, Jack! Not a more deserving gent around, Charlie. Sorry to hear of the wayward swayback. And...I hope the misses get better soon. Chicken soup sounds like just the remedy.
Maybe then we can see how the Chef prepares a fine Yorkshire feast complete with dining utensils from a bygone era.

A fine gesture from one gentleman to another.

This is why I love this part of the forum, all the friendly people, and of course the knives.

I want to thank everyone here who make the traditional forum what it is.

I hope the lost knife shows up Charlie.

A timely arrival on Yorkshire Day Charlie. I'm afraid that I have the memory of a middle-aged goldfish and can't remember exactly what I put in! Shame about the Swayback (Harrison Brothers & Howson) though, maybe it'll turn up. I really can't remember if there was anything else there. I posted 3 packages off at the same time, and in each case, immediately after sealing the packages, I remembered other things I meant to include. I'll catch you next time (and maybe use a box rather than a Jiffy bag)!

Glad you got your Sodbuster Trevor, and thanks for your very kind comments my friends, I've been the recipient of plenty of kindness while I've been here, and it's always nice to be able to give something back.

Jack

Hope your Yorkshire day was enjoyable and inspiring Jack!
Or at least foodful, and Ale-ful!
Someone will find and love that HB & H swayback. It was of course the thought that counts with me!! Thanks again!
I've had an envelope split on me before - fortunately nothing irreplaceable.

Thanks Charlie, I hope Mrs C is well again :)

I'm glad the Keen Kutter didn't fall out!
