Lordy, they're everywhere at the Company Store now.

I have the sinking feeling I should have waited on my SJ order.

Nice smoke Scott. Looks like a Gurkha. Use knives to trim mine also. Never seen much sense in those fancy cutters.

Enjoy bro..!

Dont know the smoke, like the Scotch, the Walthers are great to hang a jammie off the end, and theres the AR mag...nice toys! Enjoy, but don't mix&match!!:p

oh yea, theres a knife there too, right?

Yes, Fuente OpusX, my wife got me a box of those about five years ago, good smoke but not everyday.

An OpusX... she must love you! Didn't get those from Walmart.

Ya'll do realize that the picture at the top was the beginning of my downfall? :D

Scott, when you pour a drink, you don't mess around, do you? I've always been partial to Glenfiddich over Glenlivet myself. Also more a fan of the Highlands single malts over the Lowlands. Lately though, I've been on a JD Single Barrel kick, in part because I live here in TN and all, but also just because it's so full flavored. Try a bottle if you haven't. It's worth the extra money.

That's a nice Walther too. Been thinking about getting my wife either one of those or a snub-nose S&W. The Makarov is also a good choice in that size.

That's the stuff. Nice blade to go with it. If I took a picture of my bottle right now, it would be almost empty. :( You ever visited the distillery? It's a lot of fun to take the tour and see how they make the whiskey. We usually go down in October when they have the JD World Championship Invitational BBQ.

You can buy an entire barrel of single barrel if you have 7 or 8 grand in your wallet, and Jimmy Bedford, the master distiller, will even help you pick it out. I forget how many bottles you get out of a barrel. Companies often buy one and have it bottled for gifts.

Actually, I haven't made the trip yet. I understand that it's actually in a dry county of all things and can't sell any whiskey or even give you a taste. That just seems soooo wrong. :thumbdn:

It's still worth the trip. Pretty Cool to see and especially the smells. I had to get down to the coast and have a drink right after I went on the tour. That was a couple of years ago.

You should go for the BBQ some year. It's pretty fun, but get there early and beat the crowds.

Moore County is dry. But at some point, county officials actually passed a dispensation that allows Jack Daniels to sell their whiskey onsite, and so there's a little shop that sells it in the distillery vistor's center. You can't buy a regular bottle of Jack or even a bottle of single barrel, but you can pick up some of their select "commemorative" bottles or some of the Gentleman Jack IIRC.

Oh, and I had the price for a barrel of JD wrong. Try between $8400 and $9600. You get approximately 240 bottles.

From http://www.jdsinglebarrel.com: Some time ago, the Jack Daniel Distillery set aside a limited number of barrels of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey for personal ownership in the United States. When we started bottling Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, we thought a few whiskey connoisseurs and Jack Daniel's aficionados might be interested in purchasing an entire barrel for themselves. Imagine our surprise when more than 20 times the number of barrels we'd originally set aside quickly found a home. Shops, bars and restaurants, companies, and even a good number of individuals decided they wanted a personal barrel of whiskey specially selected for them by our master distiller, Jimmy Bedford.

I've been meaning to get down to the George Dickel distillery and take the tour now that they're giving them. GD actually shut down for a while, but I'm glad to see them back up and running.
