I just wanted to gloat a little bit 
. I've been searching for spalted box elder burl for the past two years and I've always come up dry. Well...I finally found some and I couldn't be happier. I paid through the nose, some might say exhorbitant, but I am beaming.
The blocks are rough sawn and will go out for stabilizing next week. I'm not planning on using this for many knives; a Blade show bowie this year and a JS test bowie next year. I'll be hoarding the rest of it

I know box elder isn't for everyone, but it's been my holy grail. I've called almost all suppliers and bugged the hell out of them asking about spalted box elder. When I found someone who had some in stock, I bought him out.
I've become more of a wood collector than a knife collector...whether that's good or bad I don't know. It's certainly cheaper.
Please excuse the bragging, I'm very happy.
