I don't know if anyone has ever started a thread for just jacks before, but I feel it's time for another. I'd love it if people posted photos of their favorite jacks. For the purposes of this thread, I would like to define a jack as a knife with two blades on their own springs that open at the same end.
My favorite will always be my grandfather's Case 31 pattern. He carried this knife every day of his life for at least 70 years...

Hi Redsparrow

A friend of mine found it at the local dump and gave it to me:D It's a horn handled Joseph Rodgers about 1910ish.
The blade is stamped government of Canada.

Best regrds

John, I love that brick red medium jack- didn't you re-dye that one?

Yep, the reddish chestnut-looking medium jack in the third pic is actually the same knife as the red one in the pic of 4 knives, after I dyed it. I had accidentally bought two of those (the Sunset Winterbottom bone) and kept one untouched and used the other to experiment with the RIT dye.

The second Amber Bone Small Texas Jack is not the same one as in the pic of 4, however. I have two of them. One purchased specifically to experiment with patinas.

Whoops - forgot my Powderhorn Jack - I mentally lump it in with other toothpick patterns and don't think of it first when I think of "jacks."

My favourite pattern :) Some great eye-dandy here

Here's a few of mine :)

Although there have been a number of threads on Jacks over the years, we haven't had one for a while. So another is certainly in order. Have at it.

BTW there are some nice pictures of jacks in this thread:

Hi Frank - could we not merge this Thread with Mike's Thread "All in on Jacks"? as it is a pretty darned cool thread - so it would be good to merger Mike's and have it start it off again with the help of Subspace.

I think it wouldn't hurt to have a fresh go at it.
