This has probably been mentioned before. I really dont see why I hear so many bad things about Jags. I have 4 of them and they all work fine except they wont latch when open but then again I never latched it open anyway. But I beleive for the price and quality these are decent knives, or at least better than bears.

I have a sword in my pocket!

The 1 Jag I ever owned died this way:

pins broke (which I fixed)
handles started cracking (BTW, this is the model without inserts, just silver skeletonized)
dremel to handles
took handles off and tried putting them on the bear tanto blade (handles were pretty much molded crap by now)
took blade to bench grinder to give it a larger and thinner false edge
sanded the blade for hours

Stupid Question follows:

When you refer to "Jags" (Jaguars) are you talking about Dragon Forge's "Jags"?

Thanks

Hey, if you mean that you'd probably break the 42 i don't think that's very likely!
I think that they will hold up better then the old (good) 45's, and mine just keeps ticking! (have NO proof of this, just a feeling)

Mario -

I think it'd be a little harder than you think to mess up a 42 (at least accidently). I, too, agree that they are hard to find, but only locally; they are available all over the internet, and places with 42s in stock have been mentioned on this forum many times.
