I must admit not remembering right away what a Jambiyah was, but I checked at the web site linked above, and they had several (Indian, Persian, and Kurdish). It seems a Jambiyah is a strongly curved double bladed dagger with a prominant center ridge and an sharp upward movement in the blade at about half its length. Interesting ethnographic piece. I would rather have something more or less authetic than the replica with the jaguar head you mention. There are pieces as low as $150 on that site.
