The autumnal Jewish new year coupled with the ideal of atonement has always struck me as rather bittersweet and ambiguous.

I suppose one never knows whether one will be inscribed in the book of life for the year or not.

In any case, James would have wished everyone at bladeforums a happy and healthy new year.

May we all be inscribed in the book of life for another year.
 
Agreed. James would have hoped for peace in these troubled times. Methinks that if he were involved as peacemaker in some of the conflicts we see currently, peace would be a reality in these regions currently under strife. In a certain sense, James also shared common ideals with our recently deceased Pierre Elliott Trudeau, 15th Prime Minister of Canada.

James shared ideals with a lot of people, including me. He just had a way of expressing those ideals that came across exceptionally well.
