Nice one Randy. I've always been impressed by his work.

Years ago, when we first met, you were an inspiration to me.

Not only because you were one of the first 'true' collectors that I'd ever met; not because you were generous with your time and knowledge; and not because you had the most advanced collection that I'd ever seen, both then and now...

No buddy, you were an inspiration because, while the part of your collection that I saw was varied, it still had a theme. You have an eye for excellence Randy, and not only support and promote the ‘up and coming’ knifemakers, but are also able to pick out the future ‘winners’ as made by the established makers too!

Thanks for sharing, your inspiration, and for just being you. I’m proud to call you a friend, (and will hereby be shadowing you at all future shows, in the hope that I can learn a bit more from ya…lol)

Cool pics, good score!

Mel

Thanks for the great pictures Randy. I have admired the knives of Jame Rodebough for a couple of years now. This one is exceptionally nice. I don't think James gets enough mention on the forums for his fantastic knives.

That knife looks like it was very difficult to make. It is obvious that James has tremendous skill.

Jimmy taught me everything I know...man, those were some educational 3 minutes. :D :D :D

Jim is doing some of the cleanest work out there, AND he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. I hit it off with Jim the first time I met him down in Eugene a few years ago and he has been both a friend and a teacher.

I had the fortune of taking a class from his best friend Mike Vagnino...and those two are doing just flat-out awesome work.

Sorry about those emails Randy, I'll try to call at a normal time.

Fantastic knife!!!
Nick

Jim is a great guy, and that is a great knife! :D

He probably taught me 10 times more than I have learned in the past three months in this last weekend! He spent a lot of time with me at the West Coast Clinic, and my forging has improved tremendously!

BTW, if anyone is interested, R&J Cutlery here in Victorville, CA has one of Jim's bowies on consignment! No waiting!
