Went to my first knife show today - Badger knives show in Janesville Wi. ( runs thru tomorrow 2:00PM). Very worthwile and noticably a different experience from Gun Shows.Gun Show buys are always a question mark ( is it accurate and does it shoot? 500 rounds later or less- you've got a idea). This knife show was invaluable in terms of being able to look over and handle knives that I'd only seen pictures of. Big hit for me was the Benchmade 950 Rift - nice tough tip and a reall grippy handle - this is a keeper design.Mike Obenhauf's customs - these seemed to live up to their reputation -rugged -very well executed -tough blades -again had never seen or handeled his work before. Finally got to handle a couple of Crawford knives - his top latch design is even nicer on his knives than it is on AG Russels One hand Knives. Tom Anderson knives - way nicer in the steel than they photograph. Pleasant people - purveyors were polite and attentive - if as always somewhat harried by the crowd of potential buyers.
So what did I buy ? A Atwood RingLeader and a Benchmade torx set - still well worth the afternoon and the drive.
Q: Any feedback on the Chicago show?
