I received the aforementioned blade and I must say, it came really sharp and is incredibly light and low profile. A light brush on the sharp maker makes the VG10 blade a virtual laser through paracord and the robust hollow grind with it's modified blade is quite the piercer.

My only concern is the amount of friction when opening/closing. I realize this is no Caged ball bearing lock, so I must ask the obvious:
Is this a standard characteristic for this lock mechanism (very tight tolerances)?
To the point where it drags noticeably?

Being that the lapping work was part of Mikes customization process, I was expecting for it to glide/flip out. Is this something worth asking to be looked at or is this a typical design characteristic?

I've had the knife for 3 hours and have already tried the pencil lead trick and opened and closed it about 100 times. Does it just need breaking in?

I'm keeping this one either way, but at 2x the cost of a standard (larger, heavier) endura 4 I expected more from the "lapping" process. Maybe I'm misunderstanding lapping. It opens and closes very tightly like my slip joint stockman.

Appreciate your suggestions, endura owners..

I still haven't loosened up the pivot screw, so my deployment is quite comical (think Barney Fife). Enjoy!

This is NOT your Mothers Endura 4! It's a Jandura!

The deleted blade jimping makes thumbs happy! Next to the Manix2 and HEST/f:

Very cool! I'd love to have Spyderco make that model available. Not sure I love the extra long handle though, but it is a purposeful knife.
