Janisong...is it ever gonna be for sale?

Didn't "Masters of Defense" get bought out?

Maybe the design got put on the back-burner or did get canceled.

I hope that's not the case. It seems like a really cool knife especially since it takes away the dangers inherent to the traditional bali-song.

I recently started using bali-song knives again and as long as you don't start trying to get showy (like I did when I was younger) I've come to realise the design isn't that dangerous to the user.

But, I was hoping to see the Jani-song come out as I like to try different designs.

I could have sworn I've seen them for sale. I remember talking to Sal on the forums a month ago about the price of them...didn't NGK carry them under Blackhawk?

Wow! I like it! Any idea guys on when it's out and how much it'll cost?

(just saw earlier post... 450 is actually too pricey. Gonna wait for further news.)

As far as I now NGK's janisongs are just pre-production models and they have no Idea when they will go into full production. I could be wrong though.

Sadness. I emailed Blackhawk:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your correspondence. The Janisong is on hold indefinitely. Currently there are no plans in place for its production. It may still happen but not anytime soon. Please contact us for any further assistance.

Hence the $450.00

The 450.00 price is based off what I paid for them (much more that the estimated retail price). These were limited to less than 50 pieces as a first (and maybe only) run. They include a signed certificate from Mike Janich stating the limited run and a training DVD.
Hence the $450.00

Yea, I realized the 450 price tag after I got the email correspondence from Blackhawk. I'm saddened by the fact that it may very well take a looong time for these to go into production (if at all, that is).

Mr. Dye, maybe you could post us some new pictures of the knives? :) I've never found a picture of the bottom of the knife.
