I've seen the janwar katne (hope I'm spelling that correctly) mentioned a few times. Is this something HI still produces? Anybody have one? Any pictures? How big is it?

It's special order only. Nobody really uses a 38 inch khukuri that I know of. Most end up as wall hangers.

It's a biggie....

Wow!!!! Is it built to the same specifications as other HI khuks? In other words, is it functional (assuming you can lift it)?

Josh,

It is built to the same standards as the other HI khukuries, and it is just about the right size for the Hulk. Anyone with an inseam of 50 inches or greater would have no problem wearing this on their belt. Which is good because it weighs around 12 lbs, and tend to get heavy in hand.

Check the link below - it's included with the rest in the analysis.

Man, this is the godzilla of the khukuries. You could probably take out an armored vehicle if you swing it hard enough... :D

WrongFriend,

That is the Frost/Crane version of the Predator machete. One of 500 made.

n2s, mine also one of Frost/Crane version. At first it felt super heavy in my hand. One reason was its too square handle slabs, another reason was me, not knowing HI khukuris. Recently I took out the knife after some years, and wondered how light the knife was.
