Japanese Blade info request

Here is a llink that might help.

I used the San Francisco Japanese Sword Society once to ID a Gunto that I have. It also has a signed tang. He did a nice job from the rubbing I sent him. He was able to translate it and ID the maker and when and where it was made.

Unless things have changed you don't have to be a member for this service I believe there is a small fee but I don't remember how much.

I've chatted with one of the members at a gun show I believe he is the one who does the ID work. He showed me a book with all the known sword makers and there marks. He also had an incredible collection.

Anyway hope this helps.
Nice looking knife.
