I bought this knife because I like the steel, company and various other reasons. I’m not sure how to figure out what the writing on the box and knife
means though. Can anybody help?

Thanks

Have you tried sending an email to Al Mar? They should know.

If you do, please share your findings.:)

The second and third characters mean cooking. The characters are a little stylized so it's difficult to read...

Figured it out. 御料理庖丁 = cooking knife.

I found this one the other day, but the writing that accompanied it said that it was written in Chinese and English from an old Al Mar box.

It says "oryouribouchou". 御料理 "ryouri" which means cooking. 庖丁 "houchou" which means a knife for cooking. you put these together and you pronounce "oryouribouchou"
