Japanese Kitchen Knife Murder Weapon

Sad.

The mice are eating their young.

Some scientists say this the natural result of overpopulation in lower animals.

We-higher?- are animals, too. Too often.

The trollacious recent atmosphere must be getting to me, as I notice my sentences getting less concrete.

Must be time for an e-break.

Crowd any species close enough and all sorts of aberant, anti social behavior becomes common. Methinks it may be Darwin trying to thin the population out a bit.
I've often though Homosexuality might be a response to overcrowding. Just a guess.

Yes, King Rat is a good read.

Homosexuality does increase when some animal species with territorial behaviours are overcrowded, most notably waterfowl. I've found human homosexuality quite social by contrast. Most of my gay and lesbian friends spend huge amounts of time and money helping people, but I think they might be slacking on the child murder.

I think that may be because they are group that has experienced a great deal of pain and discrimination--people who have hurt tend to want to help. I'm not discounting their good deeds by any means--many people who have been hurt choose to hurt others instead of helping.

At the moment, I can't think of anything about Homosexuality and murder, but the subject of kitchen knifes does get my attention. I've got a couple large cleavers now, and leaving them hanging on the walls has a problem. I like the easy availability and even working look it gives the room, but that is a large chunk of steel to leave around for any would be bad actors.

Munk, you might try what my father-in-law did when my wife and brother-in-law were little. He fashioned a wall block that held each knife and cleaver on it's own peg or holder of some kind. It had a bar that strapped over the handle or blade of the knife and locked some how. When he wanted to use his knives, he just unlocked it and used it while he and my MIL cooked. When they were done, they just latched it back. Not so much for the fear of burglers, but to keep little ones from getting to the large sharp things. If you knew my BIL, then you would understand. Awesome guy. Love him to death, but ADHD. Still is today at almost 29.

I think you're right about that MauiRob. Even though in Toronto being homosexual is not a big deal, a lot of people come from towns that aren't nearly as friendly. Same sex couples have the same legal rights and protections as opposite sex pairings here in Canada and have general acceptance by larger society . I'm not close to the mainstream gay and lesbian communities, but I get that they have an element of a 'small town inside a big city'. In other words a given individual knows a large percentage of the others and may live close by. So that helps.
