Hi,
I recently purchased a Japanese knife with a rectangular bamboo sheath. The back of the sheath has a opening to place it on a belt, but it's open on one side. There is a cord that runs through the belt opening and has both ends running through a 2" section of bamboo, about 1" in diameter. Although this type of sheath is common with Japanese knives, I don't know the right way (if there is one) to use the cord/bamboo "lanyard". Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
