Japanese Naval Dirks

I have been doing more research again on Japanese Naval Dirks. I have a very fine Dirk which has which was acquired in 1945 during first 2months of our occupation of Japan. It is believed to have been for rank of at least LT. Commander or higher. Though it is similar to hundreds of photos viewed and others I've have been able to physically see. This one is more ornate and has small differences, except for the Hilt ,which is unique to those I've spoken with. .I checked threads and it's been almost 2 years since posting on this specific topic has occurred.I'm seeking advise as to starting a new thread ? and if yes ,then where might be best. ? Thanks
