Just finished taking pics of this and thought that I would share them. Blade is 3-7/8in long made of Al May random pattern Damascus. Overall length is 8-3/4 inches. Traditional Japanese style wrap to complese the package. Fileworked spine as well. BTW this is a folder!!

Thanks for looking,
CHuck

First glance at the first pic, I thought I was looking at a fixed blade, then the sentence "BTW this is a folder!!" caught my eye, that's when I noticed the pivot pin, and then glanced downwards to the second and third pictures. :D

Basically, I absolutely love it! The idea of having a traditional Japanese styled folder, is a notion which really excites me, and I must say, that it turned out extremely well. The intricate filework on the spine is sweet!

I really do like the design, and for my personal tastes, I would like a more traditional appearance, rendering it similar to a traditional Japanese katana, or also a tanto, only a folder. That in my opinion, would be awesome, a "folding pocket katana/tanto", with a traditional clay tempered hamon. A tanto grind would suit it very well, but a hamon would just make it even more stunning, IMO. :D

Overall, it is an excellent knife, both in terms of design, and workmanship, and I would love to see this idea continue to evolve. :)

Between this and your Scagel-style folder, you've made some real innovations! That's a great knife.
