440V, 420V and talonite is well known American Super steel for blade(of course talonite is not really steel).
Today I found little introduction of Japanese Super Steel(also with Particle Metallurgy).
Cowry X(RT-6):HRc67 3%Carbon
Cowry Y(CP-4):HRc62 1.2%Carbon
ZDP-189:HRc67 3%Carbon
Does anyone have more detailed review on them?
Who make knife with these material in America?

there was some talk about this on the forum before....dont think its available yet...but could be wrong.....and its very expensive.

Jim Sornberger,an excellent knifemaker from Volcano,CA,found the perfect blade steel many years ago & wrote about it in an early edition of the knives annual,it was called,Unobtainium,or was it Unbeleiveium.

Blade magazine for Nov. 2000 mentions that Koji Hara uses Cowry steel, but not which kinds. Also gives an e-mail address for him- koujih@aqua.ocn.ne.jp
