Hello!
I really want to buy a Japanese sword but!
1. Don't choose the right sword.
2. Want to know more about the history of this sword?
Could you help me with this both questions,s please? I search wikipedia and etc., but want to know your personal thoughts about these questions. Especially, second. 'Cause I want to know what I havn't yet learned.

What do you want one for? Wall hanger? Imaginary fights? Real chopping?

Those answers matter.
 
Oh god, bless you madcap_magician for real! I'd never heard of this sword-buyers-guide but was impressed to get it😎
Also, I don't know exactly why I need this sword (I wrote earlier). Definitely not for any fights, haha. Probably, it can be called more "collecting", admiring? I love history and am influenced by all sorts of facts, for example, the quote from discuss of swordsmanship: "The way of the sword, also known as kendo, has been practiced and cultivated as a martial art from medieval times, flourishing in Japan from medieval times. This system involves a path of thought, which has largely preserved similar spirit realization and vision from the Japanese samurai’s discipline of mind up to the present-day society that is post-industrial."
Also, when I was looking for more information about Japanese swords, then basically there was not a culture of swordsmanship, samurai, etc., but about execution ... Why is everyone so interested in the culture and execution process in Japan in those days...

I found this resource to be excellent. A good learning tool and way to avoid disappointment or learning the hard way.
