Any of you guys/ladies have one of these? I recently acquired this from my wife's great grandma there are pretty nifty....so much I am going to make a sheath for it and give it a shot as an edc item.

Well just like I promised simple and crude. These are the tools I used, besides the 3 other cheap needles I broke

Various iterations of that design are pretty common. Generally cost about $2.00 and most of the machine vendors give them along with the machine, or gift them as freebies at shows. I have about five of them. I keep one at each machine and I really like them a lot….very handy. I attach them to the machine body on a strip of magnetic tape.

Edit: Wow I just Googled "thread snips" and they can get really pricey. All of mine were the freebies I mentioned.

Nice, I think it would come in handy as an edc. You should post a picture of the sheath when you make it.

I'm same as Paul have a couple of pair of those at each sewing machine. They are handy for that. As an edc what do you envision their job as?

I'd guess you guys never been to a sweat shop before. Take extra care when using it, they can bite your fingers.

 I'm not sure if they come with a warning label, but logic would dictate you use them with your eyes OPEN.;)….Oh, and you probably should not run with them.:D

Grew up with that scissors next to the sewing machine or in a sewing kit. Very useful to trim the thread or cut strings. It usually comes with red or black waxy rubbery plastic cover, keeps it closed & for safety.

Good deal Zack I was trying to envision where those thread snips would work better than a small knife. Parts tags would be it.

Used to sell them in 3 different sizes when I worked for a tool company 25 years ago. Can't recall how well they sold though or price

Only carried model from Japan

Just because... I sharpened the back spine on one of my many utility knifes that I use to cut leather with sometimes man does it cut now lol
