Well, I've been continuing my wasp studies after graduation so I can make believe that I'm not still a janitor at least for a few hours a week. But at work this weekend, I got to do my entomology thing and my janitor thing at the same time and get rid of some paper wasps. I always feel bad when getting rid of native paper wasps because they're really good pollinators and great pest control for other insects so when I get rid of a nest I always be sure to grab one or two for my collection. It makes me feel less bad about killing them if their bodies are used for science. As a result I have a large paper wasp section in my wasp box. But this time I got an idea, wouldn't it be neat to have a nest and all of its individuals preserved together. So, I set out on my task and sprayed this bad boy. And it backfired. There were quite a great many more wasps than I expected in that nest, I went ahead and collected them. Anywho, I now have this mason jar full of wasps and I'm not sure I want to pin 40-60 wasps and am contemplating practical jokes I can do with it, any suggestions? :p

Pour in polymer and have the only wasp nest knife handle material known to man.

Use them in a paperweight, like Winston Smith's coral paperweight in 1984.

The paperweight was the room he was in, and the coral was Julia's life and his own, fixed in a sort of eternity at the heart of the crystal.

As DC said. I've seen an "alligator Tooth" material that A. G. Russell sold as a wine-stopper. Paper Wasp acrylic should be quite the unique handle material. :D
