Pakcik Bill & Fellow Forumites.

Since the 1st time I got involved with Khukuri collection - I found out myself was updated with so many Khukuri Jargons!

The 1st one was BAS which finally I knew that it stand for British Army Service Model - Then AK which means Ang Khola ... WW II which means The 2nd World War Model ... UBE for Uncle Bill Especialle ... GRS for Gangga Ram Special ... YCS for Yvsa Cherokee Special ... JKK stand for initial name of one of our friend which already pass away (ie. Sorry ... I forget his name ... but I still remember his great work on digital picts) ... etc.

Then I came across with HIKV which simply means Himalayan Import Khukuri Virus which can attack any Knife Collectors ... Harry might know the symptom and Rusty might know the medication or vise versa!

After that I came across with UBDOTD which means Uncle Bill Deal of The Day!

... and now I came across with UBGA which means Uncle Bill Give Away! It taook me 2 or 3 days to understand what UBGA stand for!

Some of the terms (ie. is it a term?) are in the dark for me - for example Rusty was said to have Audrey ... which is unrecognised term for me! Yvsa mentioned about Tsimi so many times and ... frankly I didn't get what he means by Tsimi!

Maybe Howard have to update his FAQ site to list down all this jargons, their meanings and the initiator of the jargons ... if it is not taking much time from him ... what do you say Howard?

Pakcik Bill - It is so much fun to join you all in this forums!

"Audry" is a little 12" Sirupati. She (the knife) is named after the main character in the musical "Little Shop of Horrors". The main character happens to be a carniverous alien plant that can only live off of blood from a (preferably living) human being.

The Sirupati is straighter and a little more clunky with a very short handle, from what I understand. She also is a very early Villager model.

I have asked Rusty many times about Audry. Now I too have something very similar to her coming in the mail.:D

:D Tsimi= Jim L. Clifton, occassionally also refered to as the 'caveman' (with regards to his troglodyte preference for subterranean dwellings).

Mohd,

Don't feel bad... the UBGA threw me off for a few days too! :)

Tsimi is a nickname for Jim Clifton: AKA (also know as) the "Researcher" (sound of maniacal laughter in the background). I believe that Yvsa started referring to Jim as Tsimi. ... he'll have to fill you in on the details, but I think if you search the archives, you'll come to a thread where he explains it (a few months back).

If something new pops up, just ask. ... although I admit that it took me several months to figure out what UBDOTD was (and I was too embarrased to ask :o ).

Take care,

Alan

Correction = Audrey is a shop #1 sirupati. She is straighter at the elbow, slimmer thru the blade, and a bit smaller in the handle. Far from being clunky, she is the mongoose to the Kumar kobra. The problem is she tends to make up her own mind what to do and then do it without stopping to ask your permission.

Her namesake, in the Broadway Musical or the movie, is always hungry, and always wants to be fed " feed me "!

Bill,

You posted that right as I was posting mine. ... didn't see it til now and almost passed a spoonful of icecream through my nose :D .

Mohd,

Tsimi goes by various personas. ... here is his "kindly old researcher" mode:

Gee, I forgot how fun it was to pick on Tsimi. ... he was gone on vacation too long! I wonder where the "phantom" thread is. ... maybe we should blow the dust off of it :D

UBGA threw me off balance for few minutes but I recovered quickly.
ROTFLMRRAO (spelling?) still leaves me dazed and confused everytime it comes out in a post. Can anybody help me out on this one?

Looks like everything is covered.:)

I came up with the ROTFLMRRAO because the non-ndn has always wanted to make our ndn leaders out to be more than they are and consequently called our Chief's royalty which made their daughters "Princesses."
It's a sarcasm used to denote the "royalty" thing.

We still elect our "Princesses" at powwows and they generally hold the title for a year. It's much akin to the girls who win beauty contests and represent our country through that medium.
The ndn Princesses are elected more on what they have accomplished than on how they look.
We as a people look upon industriness, homemaking, cooking, child rearing, and the like to be more important than beauty and so our Princesses are elected under those paradigms.:D

I have heard some real nasty remarks about some of our princesses who are not big on the beauty part always by non-ndns who don't know or understand our ways at powwows.
It's always a lot of fun to run those kinds of people off just with looks.
When something like that is overheard a few words to some of the dancers will bring their attention to bear on the one(s) who said the nasty thing like, "Damn!!!! How on earth did *She* ever get to be a *Princess* looking like that and as *Fat* as she is?!?!?!?"
You get a half dozen *Big Dancers* looking at those people it usually isn't long until they get very uncomfortable and leave the arena.
Sometimes bets are even laid as to how long it will take them to leave.
We tend to like to gamble too.:)
Who ever said us ndns don't have a sense of humor.:D

IIRC was one that had me stumped for a long time. I finally got it, but the time it took to figure it out just proved that the brain cells don't work like they used too. :D

At least I think I got it... "If I Recall". Right? :)

Mohd:

As a newcomer to the Cantina, I've been a little bewildered by the jargon and abbreviations, too. So, I've decided to approach this place like a foreign film. I may not understand what's being said, but if I can get the general idea of what's going on, I'm happy. And, even if I can't figure it out, I can always sit back and enjoy the pictures. Especially the ones of Kareena.

LOL! I asked that question in an OT post awhile back:D That sucker really stumped me too. Walosi responded first and said "If I recall correctly, it has something to do with....oh heck I forget:D " (or something very close to that). I got big kick out of that one:D :D :D

Thanks for the explaination on Rusty's Audry and Jim's Tsimi ... :D

Before this I thought Audry must be Rusty's wife ... and Tsimi is Yvsa's wife's nickname!! So sorry because I understand it wrongly - what a naive person am I!

Last time I thought ROTFLMIAO is an Indian word and I thought it was popularised in HI Forums by Yvsa ... I keep on wodering on how to pronunce it correctly!

... and now ... NPDOTD (Nephew Pat's deal of the day) ... :D

Oh my ...
