A long while ago I ordered a knife from Jari Liukko of Finland.

I knew it would take some time for him to make this knife, but the wait has been worth it.

Here is what arrived:

This knife and sheath are in the Kauhava 1900's style of puukko.
It was hand forged from 80crv2, ground free hand, and everything about it is beautiful.
Since he provides a lifetime warranty, this knife will be used, but perhaps not just right away!
Jari's work is fantastic, and he was a gentleman to deal with. He sent photos at various times, and was kind enough to include a detailed letter explaining how the knife was made and the various materials used.

Knife is 9 inches over all, with a 4 inch blade.

SCORE! Wow - what a beauty  Your patience was well rewarded with a unique and stunning puukko and sheath. Congrats!

You will like it in use as well. Jari and his father Arto are of a leage of their own, so far unpaired, I'd say.

I had an audible reaction to that knife. I’ve been wanting a nice puukko for years and just haven’t pulled the trigger.

This is one of the more beautiful knives I can recall seeing on Bladeforums. Congratulations! I would have a hard time putting that knife to use.

Very nice! I would have trouble using it... I am glad that you plan on putting it to work!

Very traditional, I’d be carving the Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas ham with that knife!
