I'm eyeing one I'd like to get. I've used the search function and can't find much discussion on his quality.

What can someone expect in terms of fit, finish and overall quality? I've got a Koenig, Holt, Chris Reeve, Brian Tighe, Grimsmo, Craig Brown (and other mfg in that vein) will I be impressed with him at $850?

Any info would be great!

Thank you!

Can you post a photo of the clark you like so we can see it? It looks like most of your knives are titanium frame lock flippers, with a couple exceptions. Are you trying something new with the Clark, or is it another ti frame lock flipper?

He makes some amazing looking knives, I myself am waiting patiently for another specific knife that he makes. Problem is the ones that I usually like sell out very quickly, so I'm left waiting between models he produces until I see another set of colors he puts together with a shape that I like.

I've been interested in his work as well, and everything I've read is that his knives are very nice with good action.

I'm told that they have a very high level of fit and finish. I myself am not a customer (or a potential one) as I am not religious, and don't want religious iconography on my knives. Just a personal preference.

You mean his logo? Yeah, can't imagine many muslims, hindus, buddhist or pastafarian buying his knives 😂

They look to have very nice fit and finish, but as stated, lost me once I saw the cross... NOPE! Same reason I wont buy a Hoback.

High level of fit and finish, and the bearings make the action very smooth. This flipper is my easiest opening knife. Grinds are excellent. I was lucky and got to meet Jason at Blade this year. It was a pleasure to briefly talk with him. I guess I will be the dissenting opinion on the logo. I like it. Looks much better than the goofy spider lots of people have on their knives….

Thank you for the replies. It is posted on a website that I am not sure is able to be linked here.

Its on NTL.

ITEM:

Jason Clark Custom Folder “Hybrid Drop Point” Butterscotch Micarta Scales and Burlap Micarta Bolster w/ Magnacut Plain Edge Blade

Jason Clark knives are as good as any knife made in terms of fit and finish. In terms of the religious iconography, I used to be in the same boat as Quiet Quiet . But later I decided that they are his knives and he can put anything he pleases on them and they are a reflection of him, not so much me. (I decided the same about Hoback too but, I don't want to talk about that.)

Great looking knives!! If someone knows how to embed an image of the one I mentioned into this thread they're more than welcome to. Sounds like it will be a great knife.

Now I feel silly: I’ve owned two Jason Clark knives and someone didn’t realize the logo was a cross with his initials added. I vaguely assumed it was some sort of kanji character and never examined it closely.

His knives have great fit and finish. They’re nicely dialed in in all respects, but they’re of course not perfect. He’s a nice guy as well (have met him at a few shows).

Thank you for that.

I like it because it looks WWI/WWII for some reason. As if our new world mfg met with that generation and this was the result of an issued knife to some flavor.

I have had several of Jason's folders and found the fit and finish to be first rate and the action on flippers to be smooth and crisp. The oldest is about 10 years old and, while not in any heavy use, looks and flips like it was new. I've put a shot of it below. Logos/symbols on knive don't bother me - I've met Jason and found him to be personable. His faith never came under discussion. On the flip side I know of some makers who refuse to put their name or mark on the blade of a knife since it would be defacing the product of a god-given talent.Clark.jpg

Well I took the plunge. Will take post a pic when I get it. Going to add pics to the thread title as there seems to be decent traction in that regard in here, so keep posting them!
