i really miss his work...

does anyone know if he's retired completely?
last i spoke with him he was having some severe problem with his elbow or arm...he was in the process of forging my Eastern Firestorm, but i felt so guilty i told him i'd leave it up to him to decide if he wants to finish our project. i didn't want to contribute to his elbow/arm injury...hopefully a long well deserved time off is all he needs and eventually start forging again...i understand they have a new addition (baby) in the family as well.

if you have any Jason Cutters...please post some pics. i sure miss his fine steel cookery.

thanks. :D

Won't let me post it again, but it's over on the first Best of the Stag thread...

And it simply feels right in the hand, too... He does great work. Hope he's doing alright: have you been to his website to ask if he's still on?

I know that Kwong/Jason had badly injured himself, but he was still making knives, just not doing any forging. I don't know why he hasn't been on the forum for over half a year.

I'll get some pics up later.

It's unfortunate, but I am not surprised he has fallen back. Kwong never approached knifemaking with anything less than 110% drive and effort. He rose to be the posterboy of a fast learner and successful new maker. He was as involved in the forums as he was in the shop. Very dedicated.

But... as has been pointed out, he also had a family and another medical career and schooling--all clamoring for his attention. At some point the weakest link had to give.

I wish him nothing but the best, and hope he will resume in some paced fashion again. Till then, I will appreciate his past contributions.

I even looked at the dates - well, the day and month, cause I thought it looked funny, but the last three were today, so I didn't really look too close at the first few... Dang, it's been a lousy two days.. :foot:

Thanks for showing me the light... :D
