Many of you may remember Joe Paranee introducing a Jason Knight Founders Bowie Project some weeks ago. I believe a respectable quantity of them sold out quickly.

Though the design/knife is named Founders Bowie, it’s actually a hard-core combat fighter. All characteristics; handle, size, weight, balance, profiles are indicative of this.

Some weeks ago Joe told me Jason was making a deluxe version of the Founders with ivory handle and Damascus blade. Already having an outstanding order with Jason I called him and voiced interest in this piece and purchased it at Blade Show.

It’s one of those rare pieces which feel so good in your hand you don’t want to put it down. As with the other bowies, Jason gave it a highly sculptured handle, but this one of flawless Walrus ivory. Even with all the shaping there’s not even a hint of a check/crack.
I want to thank both Joe and Jason for turning me on to this fine fighter.

Now for the specifications:
Handle: Premium Walrus Ivory
Guard: Stainless Fighter style guard
Blade: 1080/15n20 Jason Knight Damascus w/aggressive distal taper and razor sharp clip
OAL: 15”
BL: 10”
Beautiful Jim Cooper Images

Thank you in advance for your thoughts/comments.

Absolutely breathtaking, thank you for sharing the pictures.
Congratulations, Such a clean and purely brutal Blade, yet elegant and pure Class.

Cheers,
Guy

Jason is an extremely talented maker and this is a very well thought-out design. Dressed up or dressed down, it just works.

That is and was one of my favorite pieces of the show

I am so glad it went to a good friend

Congrats Kevin

This Bowie project was such a blast and so many cool great people belong to this group who have Founders Bowie's

Jason can do it all from my user micarta piece which by the way is on its way to Paul for a scout style/Pack sheath to go along with the great one Lance made to this fantastic piece that belongs to Kevin

Really like Jason's Founders Bowies and this "deluxe" version is mighty fine! Congrats Kevin!

I love Jason Knight. There, I said it.

Wow! I thought Joe's user was awesome (love Micarta) every iteration seems to get better. You guys might be winning me over to forged blades.

Kevin that is a great piece you got from Jason. Thanks for letting me see it up close at Blade. I sure regret not going after one of the Founder's Bowies. I have seen a few and they are all first class.

Congratulations, Jon

As said, dressed up or dressed down... Outstanding. Such a pure study in line. Sooo much flow...

I believe Samuel Lurquin said it best in Joe's original thread here.
Predator...:D

With the addition of damascus and ivory, this must go in the
Best Bowie's thread.

Congrats Kevin !

Thanks again, Joe. :)

There is a purity.... unbroken... in Jason's work. I've handled hundreds of his knives, and they're all like that. He taught me almost everything I know about fitting and finishing knives, and sometimes I still scratch my head and wonder how he does it.
That knife is a treasure Kevin. Good score.

I love to see this man getting the kind of praise he deserves

He truly stands out in an ocean of makers trying to find an identity, his work truly stands out

That is a NICE JK knife. As nice as the knife is...Jason is a great indiviual who shares his making knowledge with other makers! He is one of the BEST!!

I agree Adam, Jason's genius design skills make you notice his knives and his superb fit/finish seals the deal upon close inspection.

Thanks Jon.
I'm glad a lot of folks got a chance to handle it. Actually handling knives like this really help people understand the difference between custom and production.
It received quite a bit of attention during my little custom knife tour during my daughter's graduation party on Saturday.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments. I'm sure Jason will appreciate them as well.
