Joe... How do you get all these cool blades from Jason?!?!?

Another great knife!!

Redsnake that blade is not mine

Long ago I realized with some of these great makers like Bagwell and Knight , etc. that the bulk of there work goes unseen

So I have encouraged them to send me pics and I share them here. I really enjoy promoting friends and I am fortunate o have some of the most talented makers out there as such.

I wish they all where mine but regretfully only some are :) I usually mention if they are mine.

Thx for looking

I love the contrast of the modern, bright handle and dark forged blade. Nice one!

That's a damn fine knife there. However, being a chef's knife, I don't understand or like the blade's deep texture. All those nooks and crannies are handsome, but they are also petri dishes waiting to breed bacteria. Texturing has no place on a chef's knife.

Wrong or right I'd use it with a smile

Seems to be the rage these days :)

I see some of your food prep knives have texture. So why did you make them ?

Peter,

I'm NOT a big fan of any type of 'brut de forge" texturing, but in this case, comparing textures, the only difference is that Jason's texturing looks good and yours doesn't.

His looks purposeful to the style, and yours looks like you fired buckshot at the blade....just sayin'.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I agree!!

Jason does some great Chefs knives.

The Avacado Green one has a blade that is .110 inch thick it is very thin so the texturing is not as deep as it looks.

Big Blue has a good point thou :) but I think it could be kept relatively clean in a noncomercial application

Definitely a cool and unique look, but not sure I would want the 'brut de forge" finished blade on a kitchen knife.
Creates too favorable a place for bacteria to hide.

I agree Joe, the bulk of custom knives in general go unseen by the public. One of the big advantages of Forums is that so many beautiful knives that would normally never be seen, are brought to life for the masses to enjoy.
