I’ve got a couple of others but these were handy for a poor example of photography....

Their ‘pants’ were crafted by the inimitable Paul Long, all trimmed in black Alligator, the Kukri setup for belt or Bladric carry.

The Damascus ‘Barsoom’ is one of my favorite knives, it’s stupid sharp and waves like a wand.

I remember seeing that big ol TactiCleaver he had in one of those knife mags back in the day.. loved his chopper handle then, glad to see it lives on.

I still want a TactiCleaver. Would go great with my G3 when it's dressed like a psg1, especially with a walnut or ironwood grip.

I love it when you show us parts of your great collection, you definitely have great taste imho lol. It's neat how you can clearly see all the different facets in Jason's style that have become so heavily "imitated" by other makers these days, and for good reason as they look great! I think of Jason's style when I see the raised clips, the fullers, the heavily sculpted/curvy handles with big butts, even the little hollow he grinds at the front of his handles and guards seem to be something that was at least made popular by his designs. Two more design elements I just noticed that he seems to like to repeat in his designs are the small rounded choils as well as the two pin construction, at least when using scales. I'm not saying he is the first to use polished black linen micarta, but his handles are the first ones on which that I remember it making an impression on me, which is definitely one of my favorites as well, especially with the dark pins on the full tangs.

Anyway, it's cool to see all of these side by side; I think inimitable is very appropriate, as even with all of the great knives being made now from makers who have learned from and imitate much of his style, his knives still set themselves apart from the rest and have a "classic" feeling, at least with his style. Thanks for sharing them with us.

not verbatim, but Jason's response on instagram to someone asking why he's no longer a judge on Forged in Fire; "Because I am a bladesmith".

The integrity of a person is made apparent through their work.

As an aside, Jason was one of the very first Bladesmithes to be called to audition for the show before it had even been named yet let alone produced.

He called me, said he was told he needed to bring a knife that ‘was in his style’, and asked to borrow my Kukri pictured here....how could I say no?

He told me later that one of the Producers cut themselves handling it, I smiled to myself.

No one ever saw Jason compete but he did forge a Damascus sword that was indestructible and maybe the finest piece ever made on the show.

That is a terrific set you've got going there! I've got two of them and consider myself fortunate. Love when you dig into your collection!!
