Jay Mulchay's Forge

Hey I.G., that did'nt take too long! Thanks for all the expert help putting this thing together, I really appreciate it. Cant wait to fire this up and get rolling. Anybody out there looking to put together a forge, I.G. sent the photos and tutorial to D Ellis' site for reference. Not as difficult as it sounds, and with I.G. for advice it should be a snap (other than all the runs to the hardware store when the shop gremlins kept moving our stuff

Good job guys. Looks hotter than HXXL

Jay, now that you have fire and an anvil, grab your hammer and steel and start making some forged blades. The stock removal blades I've seen that you have made look real nice, I'm sure the forged one will be very cool also. :D
Happy Hammering :D  :D

IG, I saw the tutorial on D Ellis' site, he's right you should have left out the BUD can, maybe substituted one of the empties bottles (the full ones get empty fast) of the quality beer (usually Sam Adams or some local micro brewery) that I bring over. Other than that, it's a very good tutorial. :)

:D :D

The old BBQ grill came in handy. Jay will be lining the platform where the forge sits with firebrick. Also the side burner is hooked up to a manifold so you can run it to heat up the oil and run the forge at the same time. He will be doing the kitty litter trick on the floor and firebricks on the front and back. This baby can get over 2800 degrees.
