I love the look of the new jeep commander, I'm an old school upright, manual hubs kinda guy so it's styling appeals to me.

What's you opinion?

Hi DaveH-

It looks extremely cool. As much as I am attracted to the Jeep brand I always have to reconcile that against the fact that one would be purchasing a vehicle with the notorious Chrysler transmission. In other words, I would be torn.

after owning a jeep and with my mothers jeep experience-NEVER AGAIN-
wont touch a chrysler anymore -too many bad experience's in too many cars-
they build junk and service girl actualy asked " what kind of quality did you expect from a neon"in 2000 when my new one was on its 3rd motor-
dodge was my brand forever - still have the 62 polara but that will be the only one

I had a 94 Dodge Dakota I was reasonably happy with, though I sold it at 70K miles. My parents had two separate dodge minivans that seemed fine, so I'd consider it.

I have a Grand Cherokee. Main gripes are zero support from the seats (like big armchairs, dead comfy but not much good when cornering you wallow like a beached whale!). And the suspension is too soft, you have to drastically modify the way you drive especially when cornering; I knew I wouldn't be able to throw it about like a saloon but I do mean DRASTICALLY (embarassing how slow you have to go round bends) though I do appreciate the roads are a tad less twisty in the US..........Other than that it's been a fantastic bit of kit!!!

I always wanted a Wrangler, but for practicality I ended up with a pick-up. My sister had two Jeep Comanche pick ups that were pretty reliable.

She's the only person I know that had good luck with Jeeps. My associate's Jeep ate 3 transmissions in 60,000 miles. I've always liked the looks and performance of the Jeeps, but an leery of the reliability issues.

I rented a Grand Cherokee for a hunting trip last year. The milage was horrible. I do like the look of the new one though.

I love the style of the new ones cant wait to see the new Jeep Compass.
My Mom and Dad have had NOTHING but Jeeps since 1986. They are both on their second one- 2001's. Never had transmission problems.
I had a 1997 Wrangler recently sold because of kids... LOVED IT
No transmission problems...
They arent tug boats :)
Yep you dont buy a Jeep for fuel economy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
