I was wondering if you know of any cool stuff in Peru that I might be interested in (knives, machetes, etc.) that either you can only get there or is dirt cheap there. A friend of mine got a job down there and the company he is working for gets him whatever he wants, wine, women, song, whatever. No questions asked. He said if I want anything from Peru just to let him know and he'll pick it up and bring it back with him when he comes to visit or have it shipped to me. Seems like a pretty cool offer and he owes me some favors anyway so I'll think I'll take him up on it.

If you like good Pisco then Peru has the best in the world, although the Chileans will disagree. Peru also has great Alpaca wool sweaters and garments that we bring back occasionally as well as silver jewelry. Like any Latin American country, machetes are cheap there so it's not something that is just native to Peru. If you're into mind altering things then I hear their cocaine rivals the Colombians :D But the Number 1 thing your friend could bring you back and you will love him for it is.....Inca Cola!

We have another crew inquiring about a short 4 day survival trip sometime in July. Again, it's a film crew so it may or may not happen - just like the last one bailed out at the last minute. Anyway, if this goes through then we will be back down in July for a few days and I plan on stocking up on Inca Cola. Love that stuff!

I'll tell him to grab everything but the cokaina. Thanks Jeff. That Pisco is some good stuff. From what I understand, it's like getting Soju as for as the diversity of quality. You can get good stuff or you end up a crazy soju warrior naked in the street screaming at terradactals.

awe Damn get me some...I like screaming naked anywhere,I don't know how it happend honey it just did ....LOL !

I can testify to that, I had many a days where I had to be told what happend the night before from from drinking Soju when I was TDY in Kunsan.
Then again there were some nights we would drink bottles of the stuff and barely get tipsy. Wierd! Some nasty hangovers though!:barf:

Yeah, that stuff ruined me the next day... every time I drank it. We either stuck to the cheap stuff they mix with some sort of giant bowl of fruity goodness or drunk the golden plum stuff straight. By piecing together the stories, i think what happened last time was I was trying to play poker, ran out of money, and I started trying to talk people into letting me bet money that I was planning on getting cause surely I would have more at some point. When that didn't work, apparently I was trying to console a bamboo wall for all that I know it had put up with over the years, having to hold up the ceiling and so forth. Then it was time to try to learn how to juggle dull knives dipped in gasoline and lit a flame.

Soju is the devil.

Sgt. Abney had it worse though. I still have nightmares about that poor bastard dancing on a pole in nothing but Welco's with tears in his eyes. ...damn.

Cool. I called my friend. He said none of that would be a problem. He had already agreed to get me a case of Trams whilst he was down there. He also said that he was already planning on bringing back a ton of pisco and inca cola anyways. So all i need is some alpaca clothing.

Soju is actually the national drink for Korea. If you know anybody going over there, definitely get them to pick you up a few bottles of various brands.

Cool...I don't know of anyone...any sweet drinks in South Africa,my Brazilian bro ,is going there to buy some items....

My South African friends here say they like New Castle. Never been able to get anything else out of them. I'll check with my buddy in Johannesburg.

stocking up on Inca Cola. Love that stuff!

I'd go for the sweaters. $100+ in the cities down there, $15 in the villages. No idea what they cost in the states...

Well, if things go as planned Mike and I plan to be drinking Inca Cola in Peru in a few weeks. We have a European film crew that's wanting to get their asses kicked for a few days surviving in the jungle, so we're going down and put them through the paces.
