I am considering one of the above. What do these makers offer over the production knives? Which one would you choose for a camping/bushcraft knife?

Are they thin like an Old Hickory? I figure they are made to a higher standard, but are they suited to rough use? I am leaning towards the Jeff White long hunter.

I bought a Jeff White that chipped out pretty badly whittling some crab apple branches my RAT1 didnt even sweat on. Crab apple is pretty hard wood, but not something I could ever recommend. Old Hicks in my experience are tougher than old leather.

I went ahead and got the Jeff White Longhunter from a local vendor. While I think its a very good knife, I probably could have picked up an Old Hickory and been fine.
