I have some Minwax Tung oil that i left outside and it,s a bit like jello.

What would i use To bring it back to a more usable consistency ??

Thanks,Bryce

Once it reaches that point it will probably not cure when applied to wood. It will stay gummy pretty much forever. You can try putting a little onto some glass and see if it dries. It pretty cheap stuff to get another quart.

It jells on the top,I have heated the bottom of the can to get it to flow, but you have to punch a hole in the jellied part. It's diluted but still works--Regards Butch

Hmmm i was hoping there was something i could mix with it to make it work. It,s pretty much a whole can of the stuff.

I might try the heating and see how that works.THANKS

Tung oil is notorious for this....I use it a bunch on refinishing projects. The trick is, once you open the can, don't re-seal it with air in it. How do I do that? Pour marbles into the container to take up as much space as possible that resulted from the loss of the tung oil you used. You want that tung oil to be eaven with the top when you seal it off.

Good luck...and go buy you a new can of it..the jelled stuff won't work properly now. Those are the resins that are mixed in with the pure oil that have hardened with the exposure to air. The rest of the liquid is more or less the tung oil itself, which needs a hardener to dry.
