I posted this in the knifemakers gallery, but I thought I'd share her here as well.
"Jenni" is the first of many more like her. I took our first recurve design and reworked it over, giving it a more dramatic recurve/belly and a sexy new handle shape... What do you guys think of her?

specs:

Diamond J Knives
"Jenni"

3/16" 1095
Differentially Heat Treated
Flat Ground Recurve with Swage Grind.
Hand Rubbed, Acid Etched Finish.
The scales are 3/32 red/black G-10 3D and holly on top. The G-10 gives a really cool shadowboxed look. CA finished, hand sanded to 6000 grit and hand buffed.
(2) 3/16 S.S./copper mosaic pins and one 7/32 S.S./copper mosaic tube
Blade Length Tip To Plunge: 5 5/8"
Overall Length: 11 1/8"

Questions and Comments Always Welcome.
Thanks for looking!

Wonderful. This floats my boat.

A hearty hurrah!

I really like it. It's a great looking knife and seems like a pleasure to hold and use. I think a tapered tang would be pretty cool, but that's just a personal preference.

Very original! I really like the handle shape and materials. Looks like a very comfortable design. Congratulations!

THAT is a beautiful design. Looks crisp, great lines, I'm not a fan of mosaic pins personally, but they really give that knife a clean look. I agree that a tapered tang might give that knife absolute perfection, but like cnas122 said, that's just personal preference. Sheath looks great as well. Very impressed, but I'm just a knucklehead.

To quote Forrest Gump, " Me and Jenni goes together like peas and carrots."

Thank you all very much for the kind compliments. I like the idea of a tapered tang and plan to try that on the next one we do. In my opinion the ergonomics and handle shape on this knife came out perfect. She is very comfortable in the hand, with a very lively yet solid feel to her.

Thanks again! your comments mean alot to us.

Nice work!! You can actually see your reflection in one of the pics in the HANDLE! Amazing! And I like the blade shape too.

Wow I didn't notice the reflection in the handle until you pointed it out.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Mykel, she is the only one we have made to date, but plan to be making this design for a long time.
I think the next one we make like Jenni will be 10% bigger. I also plan to make one like her with a nine inch blade length as well.

Thanks again,
Dan

This is a very good looking knife which is well designed with impressive fit, finish and execution.

I feel the same as others regarding a tapered tang, however will go further and say I don’t see it as personal preference but practically an expectation for a knife of this quality and substance.

I also would have used three “like” mosaic pins rather than substituting the one towards the butt which leaves me wondering if you ran out of the one style. If a different “look” was preferred toward the end then a thong hole would have worked.

Possibilities for this fine design are almost endless considering all the alternative premium handle materials which could be utilized.

Thanks for the compliments.

ok, I get everyone's point, the next one we do like this will have a tapered tang :D

Kevin, It doesn't show well in the pictures, but the rear mosaic is a lanyard tube. the front 2 pins are S.S./copper and the rear lanyard tube is also S.S./copper.

I really like this knife. The handle looks quite comfortable and the overall shape is cool. I like the idea of a blade that is a bit longer. The colors and finishes you've gone with are eye catching. I'd use a tapered tang...:D...sorry, had to say that.

Hey Coop, a white handle strikes again and floats your boat! Floats mine, too.

Thanks for the compliments.

Sorry Dan, I should have read your opening post more closely as you stated such. Love that blade profile.

A true beauty. I really like the blade and the handles. I hope you will improve the prototype and make many more
