I wanted a Persian style fighter, that while a work of art, was fully functional and could be used.

So, here it is, the Jens Ansø Persian:

Over all length is 11" with full tang, (drilled for lightness)

The Blade is 6" and fully sharpend on both sides.

It's made entirely of Rose Pattern Damasteel, (a specialty of Jens), Including the bolsters.

All the screws were heat treated for colour, and file worked.
The full spine and belly of the handle are file worked as well. The handles are Mastadon Ivory, and have some wonderful colour inclusions on both sides.

The sheath is snakeskin and leather, with file work done on the screws holding the belt loop.

Certainly agree with Nick and Keith. Have never seen this approach to knives by Jens. Hope he does more of this type of thing. Would have been glad to add something like that to my collection. Now I have to figure out where to put anything new.

Cool looking persian! I love Jens' work! :) I currently own 4 of them and number 5 will be here soon!

Nice knife. Would luv to see a close up of the blade. As a snake owner (Slinky - python regius) I'm not to crazy about the sheath. Sorry.

I've got a soft spot, other than my head, for Persian-style blades and that is a FINE example!!!!

Keep up the new styles and ideas, Jens, your fit and finish is already just about as good as it gets........;)

No WAY, Cant BE, WAY to big to be an Anso!!! Damn Jens, that's enough damascus to make 5 knives out of:p

Beautiful work and great design,

Neil

I think I can get a close-up posted in a couple of days. Don't feel bad about the sheath:)

Its really nice to see so many kind words about this knife. It is deffently something that I liked to do. Had it not been ordered I would probably not have made something like this any day soon but I am glad I did. Its tricky when everything you do on a knife is sort of new. Many things on this one was 2first time"...never tried a double bolster before....but it went well. I can safely say that this is the largest blade I have ever made in damascus...had to make a special etching container for that one. In the process of designing this blade I made a similar design but without the "guards" at the front bolster...to good of a design to trash so I made a blade of this design in RWL-34 that you will see soon.
