...Jensen Elite Blades: Peter is great to deal with...It can sometimes be cumbersome to contact Peter due to the time difference...but he will get back to you...

...They are tough as nails (actually tougher as they can easily chop one in half, and beautiful to boot. The workmanship on these is superb, the ergonomics are very well thought out, and lastly the blades are truly made to be used...IMO they are very underrated knives. JEBs is the shizznit!

I sent e-mail to them a long time ago: no answer=no solution...No answer no DEAL...
...I just wanted to say that the quality and the workmanship of Peter is top notch...
What I like about Peter, is that he doesn't just make great knives, but his after sales service is fantastic as well.......MANY times he has gone out of his way to make sure that everything is to my "standard" (and I'm VERY FUSSY); I'm sure that it seems like a "curse" that he met me, I'm sure ;-)
If you want a great functional, using knife that you can pass down as an heirloom........then you can't go wrong with Peter.

Peter Jensen made "The Floro".....a knife I designed with him.
However, due to A LOT of complaints.........I'm pulling the plug on him.
I'm looking for a new knife maker who will answer his emails, answer his phone messages......and someone who won't deceive anyone about delivery dates.
As a result.....I've turned away at least a dozen orders for the Floro knife.

I am still waiting on a reply to my email inquiry. I suspect they are busy, understaffed, etc...as are other small businesses. I will give them around 7-10 days. It seems Cerberus has had a good experience. What have others found to be the case? I like the look of their blades and wouldn't mind trying some out in my initial starters for a collection. Am I wasting my time?

Lizard,
Theres a pretty long thread on GB&U about three pages long. I think you should check it out. Not very good:(

...I just got the knife I ordered yesterday. I am very pleased with the results...Grade for product: A++. Grade for all else, D+ but forgivably so...I'll get out of the knife will have made it worth the wait.
Consider me a satisfied customer...
I got to tell you this bums me out! It would seem that if you can get PJ to make/send you a JEB you would be satified. By all accounts, it seems JEB blades are high quality. However, the majority of comments I found suggest the service is lacking. I am bummed.:(

I hear ya lizard. I've been wanting to get a JED for some time now. But I just can't trust them at this point. Most people who get one of thier knives are very, very happy with them. It's a "bummer".

I have a TAC Dragon on order that I am waiting for and hope eventually that it will get here one day. I have talked with Bel and Peter on more than one occasion and the last batch of knives that I got from him had extra goodied for the land down under for my son and duaghter. Peter sent me a copy of the Quaterly magazine from OZ and then signed me up for a subscription when I asked if he had any older issues to pass along.

I have many emails that have gone unanswered and the updates have stopped. I don't know what exactly is happening, but I am not ready to throw the man under the bus. It is unfortunate that he is unreachable right now for those who want to buy his product and those who are waiting on something. Peter has never asked me for anything up front, so I am out nothing but a great knife I wanted, no money is tied up. There has to be more to the story that we are unaware of and I can wait for whatever it is.

Cerberus,

Be sure to let us know how it turns out for you, and if you can find out just what is going on down there. I sure would like to get one of thier knives.

Good luck, hope you get you knife...

Are they not answering thier phone?

Phone ~ +61 (0) 24390 2821

Mobile ~ +61 (0) 431 068917

(International customers, please remember to use the correct country dialing codes before the above numbers.)

cut and pasted from thier site.

Hi All,
I have several of Petes knives and they are very tough and well made , I can recommend them to any serious user as a good product . They can take a while but they are worth the wait , I think the best thing pete could do is quote a year as delivery time as this would stop a lot of problems from forming in the first place as most of the complaints are about missed dates and the lack of communication that then follows when people get upset, That said no one seems to be upset with the finished product ?.
All the best , Fishmonger

If there is only one truth in business, it's the fact that service will make or break a company, no matter how good the product is.

There are no end of quality custom makers without communication problems, just go with one of them. If you don't know who to check into, make a post in the custom form talking about the type of blade you want and asking how can make that style/class of knife in a given price point.

If that is how he works then at least that's something. That shows a degree of trust lacking in many businesses today. I would love to see that subscription.

...their computer is down and this is apparently why they have not been contacting people. I received a message on my mobile yesterday to say that it will be back in service in a day or so, so hopefully he will contact you then. I have forwarded your message...
Well, I have taken advantage of contacting a potential intermediate to forward my interest. The above is my response...So, hopefully I will be successful in my quest for a JEB product. I will keep you all posted. :D I am only 2-3 days into my quest...I will hope. Too bad about the Floro cause that looked great. I am/was thinking about that too. I have a large number of military friends and contacts that migh have been interested. I will see what happens before turning over my friends and colleagues/encouraging them into this market.:foot:

The fact that their computer is down could explain allot. It sounds like things will be back to normal soon:thumbup:

I received two more complaints this week regarding Jensen.

Same story...........they have ordered knives, paid for it......was promised delivery MONTHS AGO.

They tried to contact Jensen NUMEROUS times, via phone, SMS, Email.

NO REPLY WHATSOEVER.

Difference being........these guys are now going to "Consumer Affairs".

That is unfortunate and troubling. The products look good. I really hope he/they can get their affairs in order. It would likely represent a great loss to the knife buying and fabricating community should they continue as current. :(

PS: I tried to phone again. The "land line" works and I get their machine. Their mobile/portable ( 61-0-431 068917) does not seem to work.

Finally, can someone give me assistance on how I might be able to post some images?
